Peregrine Falcon Update
    Description: About 16 inches long, they are blushish on top and white or biff with black bars below. The female is larger than the male and lays 3 - 4 buff colored eggs with brown marks. The eggs hatch in about 28 days and the young leave the nest in 5 - 6 weeks after hatching.

    Habitat: Peregrin falcons are found in open country near water, cliff or buildings in urban areas. Trhey nest on cliff or buildings ledges.

    Did you know?: The peregrine populationwas drastically reduced due to the use of DDT to control mosquito infestations and insects on crops. The number of falcons is increasing now through programs to breed them in captivite and then release them into the wild.
