Apatosaurus

Lived during: Late Jurassic
Found: Western North America
Name means: Deceptive lizard
This 30 ton giant (which used to be known as a Brontosaurus was
once thought to be too heavy to live anywhere but in the water. However,
it's recently been found hat Apatosaurus's legs were so strong that Apatosaurus's
legs were so strong that it probably lived on dry land. The true
shape of the animals head was not discovered until the 1970'. (It had a
long head, not a square one as had always been thought.)
Lived at the same time as: Allosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Camptosaurus,
Diplodocus, Ornitholestes, Stegosaurus
