Name Means: First horned face
Before the early 1920's, it was only thought that dinosaurs hatched from eggs.  In , 1922, thgough, an American expedition in Mongolia's Gobi Desert found the very first complete dinosaur eggs, which may have belonged to Protoceratops, in nests belonging to this beaked plant eater.  Protoceratops walked on all fours, and had a bony next frill.  Large numbers of Protocertops skeletons have been found.
Lived at the same time as: Ankylosaurus, Gallimimus, Maiasaura, Parasaurolophus,  Pteranodon, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Velociraptor
