Thomas
Mufasha
Thomas was bought for me by my husband (divorcing now) in February in 1994. He was a SPCA cat and stubborn, troublesome and a pain in the neck at times. But he was a sweet loving animal. He would steel the dog toys (stuff toys that is) and run through the house with them meowing. He would meow you to death waiting for canned food and if ya didn't get him some he would be the most stuck up cat and not come near you.
A few weeks ago he was found (just before THanksgiving) to have a small white blotch on his gum which in turn caused him to slow down on eating. But it was very strange though. He wanted turkey on turkey day and like always all the pets got a bit of that. I then noticed a few days later he had lost weight. (He was only 8 pounds to 9 any ways). So him loosing weight was very scary. Well he started to eat and things looked up. But he was not gaining. I started to feel all of his bones structure. The vet put him on medication and it seemed to help. The week before Christmas I had to start force feeding, and watering and he really ate on his own even drank the day before christmas.
Christmas night, Thomas came up to me like so many time before and just flopped on my lap. A bit unusual but nothing surprised me with him. He then shivered and his front legs stretched out and he had had some sort of stroke. I called me cat friend next door and she rushed me in with him.
Diagnosis: Stroke and septic. He was dying and suffering. I put him to sleep and brought him home to be buried under the tree that was his age out back.
He came to me about 11:45 last night (Christmas eve) and laid on my lap for a few minutes and had the stroke. Which led to a rush to the animal hospital which the vet agreed to give him his eternal sleep.
He was comforting, relaxing and loving animal and I would not ever regret saving him from death at the SPCA. A house cat that never got onto tables, scratched furniture or bit. He was a wonderful loyal family member.
To him He was my little kitten to the end.
With love from me to him
Ladywildlife.
