Dilophosaurus
 (dy-LOH-fo-sawr-us)
Length: 20 feet
Lived during: Early Jurassic
Found: Arizona
Name means: Two crested lizard
One of the very oldest of the well known meat eaters, Dilophosaurus large head was filled with long, sharp, slender teeth, and topped with a set of two curving crests.  No one is certain what these crests were for, brightly colored.  There's no evidence that the animal was able to spit poison, as seen in a popular movie.
