Name Means: Iguana tooth
One of the most common dinosaurs of its period, this 15 foot high 2 legged plant eater was one of the very first dinosaurs ever discovered.  An englishwoman named Mary Ann Mantell found one of its teeth, and her scientist husband, thinking it looked like a large iguana tooth, gave it its name in 1825. Iguanodon's hands had four fingers plus a strange, spike like thumb.
Lived at the same time as: Deinonychus, Hypsilophodon, Ouranosaurus
