Megalosarus

Name Means: Big Lizzard
Although some Iguanondon teeth and bones had been found earlier, this 2 ton meat eater was the first dinosaur ever to ger a name.  In 1824.  Megalosaurus had teeth were curved on one side, flat on the other and with jagged edges, much like a steak knife.  This dinosaur walked on two legs, but in an 1851 statue in London (which still exsists), it was mistakenly shown on all fours.
Lived at the same time as: Anchisaurus, Dilophosaurus, Plesiosaurus, Scelidosaurus
